A clinic app for the conversation after treatment
It reads a patient’s date of birth on the three constitutional levels of Stems and Branches, helps you choose one practice for the patient to do at home, and records at the next visit whether it held. Patient records stay on your own device.
Monthly, $19Yearly, $99During a visit
Follow-up
At a return visit the app shows the practice you gave last time and asks whether it held: yes, partly, no, or not practiced. You add one sentence in the patient’s own words.
Channels treated
You mark the channels you needled, or enter point codes such as LR3 or GB34. For each channel the app shows the heavenly stem and the earthly branch associated with it, what the patient may notice in the following days, and what is worth discussing. How much of this appears varies from patient to patient.
Recommendation
One practice per visit, taken from the three levels read from the date of birth. When a practice has held, the app suggests the next level; otherwise it keeps the current one.
Handout
The practice can be printed, sent as text, or opened on the patient’s phone with a five-character code, where the patient marks the days it was done. English or Polish.
Source of the readings
The texts come from Dr. Michal Richter’s six-volume series on Stems and Branches, shortened to what is said to a patient in the treatment room. No prior knowledge of the system is needed to use them.
For practitioners who work with the system, the Reading view also shows the strong side, the unlike qi of the stem and the branch, birth dates close to the turn of the solar year (to be settled from the pulse), and which channels of a textbook point combination appear in the patient’s chart. The readings describe tendencies, not fixed outcomes; the pulse remains the deciding examination.
Records and results
Each visit is stored with the follow-up answer, the channels treated, the recommendation, a note and the date of the next review. The Results view summarizes, for your own patients, how often each level held, by level and by presenting complaint.
Data
Records are stored in the browser on your device and are not transmitted to us or to anyone else. Signing in verifies the subscription and nothing more. On a shared computer the records can be encrypted with a PIN and lock after a period of inactivity. A backup file can be saved at any time and restored on another device.
The app is not a medical record system and does not replace your clinical notes.
Author
Dr. Michal Richter is a physician and acupuncturist with twenty-five years of acupuncture practice and fifteen years of teaching practitioners. He reads the constitution from the date of birth and confirms it with the pulse.
